Waynetown, March 12 -- S.J. Grenard, 88 retired farmer died 4:15 this afternoon at his home here after an illness of 7 weeks with a complications of diseases. Mr. Grenard was born in CC Twp, Montgomery County March 6, 1852. His parents were Simeon and Abigail Rusk Grenard. On Feb 19, 1874 he married Martha Earl of near Waynetown who survives. His entire life was spent in this community. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to the widow are a son, James Emit Grenard, local funeral director; a daughter, Mrs. John Swank near Waynetown; two brothers, JD & DR Grenard of Wingate; four grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several niece and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the local Baptist Church, Rev. IC Overman in charge. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding services. Friends may pay their respects previous to that time at the Grenard Funeral Home here. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
